NHRMC Gets Stroke Center Certification From DNV

By Staff Reports, posted Aug 2, 2019
DNV GL-Healthcare granted certification to New Hanover Regional Medical Center as a Comprehensive Stroke Center.

The certification is based on standards from the Brain Attack Coalition and the American Stroke Association. It shows that NHRMC addresses the full spectrum of stroke care and establishes metrics to evaluate outcomes, officials said in a news release.

“NHRMC is the only DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center in North Carolina,” the release stated.

“Comprehensive stroke center designation represents a milestone in NHRMC’s commitment to providing the best care for our community,” said James McKinney, medical director of the NHRMC stroke center.
