The Commission on Cancer, or CoC, a quality evaluation program of the American College of Surgeons, recently granted three-year accreditation to the cancer program at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
 
To earn voluntary CoC accreditation, NHRMC met 34 quality care standards and is required to maintain levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care.
 
“We are proud to have the only accredited, comprehensive, multi-disciplinary cancer program in southeastern North Carolina,” Henry Hawthorne, administrator of oncology services, said in the release.
