Dosher Memorial Hospital’s clinical partner for wound care, Healogics Inc., has named the Wound Care Center at Dosher a “Center of Distinction.”
This recognition follows the department achieving a 95 percent “heal rate” for patients in 2015 announced earlier this year, a news release stated.
“This is a terrific accomplishment for any wound care program, but to do so during the first year in service, is remarkable,” Austin Day, area vice president, Healogics, said in
the release.
Dosher is one of 800 wound centers in the U.S. operated by Healogics. The Southport hospital opened its Wound Care Center in late 2014. Equipment used at the center includes two hyperbaric oxygen chambers, used to treat patients with the most difficult wounds.
