Dosher ER receives Award From Vendor

By Ken Little, posted Apr 24, 2015
The Dosher Memorial Hospital emergency department was recently the recipient of the T-System Inc., 2014 Client Excellence Award for Excellence in Patient Experience.

The emergency department of Dosher Memorial, at 924 N. Howe St. in Southport, was one of only five Client Excellence Award recipients from more than 1,900 facilities nationwide.

In receiving the award, Dosher Memorial administrators said the hospital was recognized for successfully implementing T-System’s EV solution to transform the patient experience by reducing its “Left Without Bring Seen” rate by 90 percent.

The reduction reduced the emergency room’s door-to-doctor by 53 percent and achieved a 99th percentile ranking in its Press Ganey patient satisfaction score.

Tom Dunn, T-System executive vice president of sales and marketing, recently traveled from company headquarters in Dallas to Dosher Memorial to make a plaque presentation to Joann Turzer-Commesso, the hospital’s emergency room director.

As part of the Client Excellence Award, a $500 donation was made by T-System to the Dosher Hospital Foundation.

Hospital officials said this was the second time Dosher Memorial’s emergency department has received the T-System award.
