Wilmington Dermatology Adds Onto Facility

By Vicky Janowski, posted Aug 7, 2014
Wilmington Dermatology Center will add 4,000 square feet to its location in Howe Creek Landing, officials announced Thursday.

The dermatology practice acquired the adjacent space, previously occupied by marketing firm Signal Inc., which last month moved to an office space downtown.

Wilmington Dermatology plans to expand out in the coming weeks, according to a news release.

“The expansion will provide the additional space needed to accommodate the addition of a dermatology physicians assistant slated to start in September, will support the needs of future clinical research and allows for various improvements to client amenities,” the release stated.

Dermatologist Rosalyn George, who owns the practice, has been ramping up staff levels as well as clinical trial participation since opening the practice in 2008. She and her husband started the office in a space near Wrightsville Beach before moving to the practice’s current location in the Mayfaire area.

“On the eve of our sixth anniversary in Wilmington, we are grateful to our patients and clients for the continued growth over the years, and we look forward to continuing to make improvements to support our goal of providing the highest level of care, the latest in treatment options, with a focus on results,” George said in a statement.

Practice officials said business would not be interrupted during the construction to integrate the additional space, and an open house is planned for early October.

NewBridge Bank provided financing for the project, according to the release, and McKinley Building Corp. is working on the construction.
