More than 65 departments at New Hanover Regional Medical Center took part during the recent holiday season in the “Adopt-A-Family” program sponsored by the hospital.
Hospital officials said hundreds of gifts were donated by employees. The gifts were loaded onto ambulances for holiday deliveries to families in need. Employees in the Emergency Medical Services Department loaded the presents into five EMS vehicles and a 32-foot trailer to be delivered to the agencies that distributed the gifts.
The Adopt-A-Family program has been a tradition at New Hanover Regional Medical Center for the last 15 years, hospital officials said.
Each year, the hospital comes together to fulfill the wish lists of families that might not otherwise have gifts to unwrap,” spokeswoman Erin Balzotti said.
