New Hanover Regional Medical Center employees recently teamed up with New Hanover County Schools to donate needed supplies to one local school.
Snipes Academy of Arts and Design received hundreds of school supply items when hospital employees delivered their donations. Hospital officials said notebooks, pencil pouches, backpacks, ink pens and other items were donated by New Hanover Regional employees.
Hospital Food Services Retail & Catering Manager Scott Simpson had the idea to coordinate a school supply drive for local schools.
“I thought this would be a great opportunity to help some of the school children in our community. We just announced to all our employees that we wanted to collect supplies for our local schools and the donations started pouring in,” Simpson said in a prepared statement.
