The city of Wilmington has invited the public to a meeting next week that will unveil maps showing how the Port City should grow and develop over the next 25 years, according to the city's website.
The meeting will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at the New Hanover County Executive Development Center, 1241 Military Cutoff Road, adjacent to the Northeast Regional Library. Those who attend can revew the maps, ask questions and provide input, the city's website states.
Each of the maps shows a different feature, such as the location of new streets, shopping centers and parks and the best areas for redevelopment.
New Hanover County staff members are expected to attend to present their draft land use map, giving the public the opportunity to see how the city and county maps will coordinate with one another and how residents might be affected, the city's website explains.
Earlier this year, the city released a Growth Factors Report and Foundations Report, which, along with growth strategy maps, form part of the city's process toward adopting an updated Comprehensive Plan.
