As a result of the coronavirus pandemic and the economic strain it has caused across the U.S., loans have been made available to small businesses and banks are coping with an influx of applications.

Wilmington-headquartered Live Oak Bank is the nation's largest SBA lender. On BizTalk Monday, Live Oak Chairman and CEO Chip Mahan and bank President Huntley Garriott discussed the SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans; what the $349 billion forgivable loan program means for small businesses and nonprofits; and what the coronavirus economic shutdown has meant for the Wilmington-based bank.
