Adam Shay CPA PLLC has named its first equity partner, according to a news release.

Caroline Montgomery, Adam Shay’s tax manager, has been made an equity partner. Officials said in the release that the addition is because of Montgomery’s leadership and the continued growth of the firm, which now has 18 employees.

“I’ve always been open to expanding ownership and for the past three years, Caroline has demonstrated not just expertise and initiative, but outstanding leadership and judgment. Her vision to create a team with expertise for dental practices has put us on a sharp upward trajectory,” said Adam Shay, founder and managing partner, in the release.

Montgomery graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in accounting. She earned her CPA license in 2014.

Montgomery worked for a CPA firm in Greenville for eight years. She started working there as a sophomore in college, according to the release.

She has a combined 12 years of experience within CPA firms.

“Caroline’s reputation as a mentor will be a plus for our staff development and recruiting,” Shay added.

The firm has also expanded its fraud and forensic accounting team and its Virtual CFO services for SME’s and startups, according to the release.

“I am very excited to be part of a growing firm that continues to show success in our focus areas,” Montgomery said in the release.
