Beau Rivage Golf & Resort has partnered with a local catering company, Catering Thyme, to provide exclusive service for all private events and banquets at the resort. The Walker family, who has operated the resort since 2006, has sub-leased their banquet kitchen to various catering companies in the past, as well as operated an in-house catering service, but found both scenarios difficult to sustain.

Jake Walker, general manager of Beau Rivage, said that the partnership with Catering Thyme, which became official last year, has allowed the resort to meet the ongoing banquet and catering needs of the greater Wilmington community.

“Catering Thyme has built a reputation of excellence through unfailing attention to detail and consistently providing high-quality food and professional service at competitive prices,” Walker said. “Moving forward together, Beau Rivage and Catering Thyme are committed to making every occasion, large or small, a memorable one.”

Walker said that over the past couple of years, his family has dedicated themselves to rebranding the resort to focus on golf, lodging and events. All 28 guest suites have been remodeled and the Veranda Bar and Grill has gone from a simple snack bar to a full-service restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner to the public every day of the week.

Walker and Susan Lawler, co-owner and manager of Catering Thyme, are currently putting together a non-profit event series benefiting local charities, as well as themed holiday events, all of which are open to the public.

Reservations are now being taken for Easter Brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 1. Brunch will feature a wide variety of breakfast and lunch items, including caramelized praline French toast, made-to-order omelets, prime rib and baked ham carving stations, baked stuffed chicken breast, lobster ravioli, a mashed potato bar and a mimosa and bloody Mary bar. Guests will enjoy live music from Jenny Pearson and a visit from the Easter Bunny. The buffet is $31.95 for adults, $12.95 for children 5-12, and free for children 4 and under. Call 910-392-9021 for reservations.

A full list of resort events can be found on the online clubhouse calendar.
