First Citizens Rolls Out New Rewards Programs

By Jenny Callison, posted Nov 10, 2014
First Citizens Bank has introduced a new credit card rewards program, called First Citizens Rewards, according to a recent news release. The program enables the bank’s credit card holders to earn more points through their purchases and do more with the points they accumulate, the release stated.

Consumer customers have two options, according to the release: the First Citizens Optimum Rewards Visa, a $50 per year card which allows them to earn 1.5 points for every $1 spent on qualifying purchases; and First Citizens Rewards Visa, which provides a point-per-dollar match, allows the pooling of points with other First Citizens cards and charges no annual fee.

For business customers, First Citizens offers the First Citizens Optimum Rewards Business Visa, which enables cardholders to earn 1.5 points for every dollar spent on qualifying purchases and charges the $50 annual fee, the release stated, adding that businesses participating in the program can get cards for their employees, set credit limits and pool points across all their qualified credit cards.

Both consumer and business cardholders can redeem points for cash and a variety of merchandise and services, including travel, the release stated.
