Assistant County Manager Completes Fellowship

Tufanna Bradley, assistant county manager with New Hanover County, recently completed the Leading for Results program course through the UNC School of Government as a Local Government Federal Credit Union Fellow (LGFCU).

Bradley, who has served the community for more than 20 years, was one of 24 individuals selected from a pool of 120 applications across the state to take part in this opportunity, according to a county news release.

“Being chosen to participate in this fellowship was an honor in itself but getting the chance to learn new leadership skills and techniques through this in-depth course of study was truly a blessing,” Bradley said in the release. “My goal is always to learn as much as I can and bring that back to New Hanover County to help our community continue to grow. I’m grateful and excited to put what I studied into practice.”

The Leading for Results program introduces LGFCU Fellows to a wide array of leadership models and tools, then works with the individual to help understand their leadership style and on ways to strengthen their effectiveness, the release stated.

Bradley oversees the county’s Health and Human Services agency, Senior Resource Center, Community Justice Services and Veteran Services. She also serves as a liaison with the court system and Trillium Health Resources, both of which receive funding from the county.

“Tufanna is the definition of a servant leader and her passion for continuous self-improvement is inspiring,” said County Manager Chris Coudriet in the release. “These opportunities to learn and be honored are not surprising to me as she does the work every day to make herself a better leader for our county. We are proud to have her on our team and excited about her continued leadership.”
