Charles Kays, a surgeon with Wilmington Plastic Surgery, was chosen by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons Quality and Performance Committee to co-chair a national workgroup of experts, according to a news release.

The workgroup is tasked with developing national clinical practice guidelines for breast reconstruction after mastectomy, officials said.

Members of the group will work with physicians and stakeholder organizations and committee staff for more than a year to develop national clinical breast reconstruction practice guidelines.

Kays' paper, "The Broad Application of Prepectoral Brest Reconstruction," has also been accepted for presentation at the second Global Conference of Plastic Surgery in London this summer, stated the release.
