Susan Boyd has joined The Help Hub at The Harrelson Center, according to a news release.

Boyd is with Community Care of the Lower Cape Fear (CCLCF), and is The Help Hub's first nurse care manager, working to provide access to health resources, education and medical referrals, as necessary, stated the release.

“We are so gratified that through our partnership with Community Care of the Lower Cape Fear we are able to provide our Help Hub clients with greater responsiveness to underlying healthcare needs,” said The Harrelson Center Executive Director Meade Van Pelt in the release.  “Susan Boyd’s years of nursing infants, adults and geriatric patients in both hospital and home settings brings essential insight to our client services.”

Boyd's position is in partnership with CCLCF and is funded through a grant with The Ministering Circle, stated the release.

She has 20 years of nursing experience, including experience in the nonprofit sector "assisting military and civilian at-risk populations," officials said.

"Boyd will be available to uninsured/underinsured and low-income clients for telehealth or in-person encounters during the Help Hub’s normal business hours, Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. until noon," officials said in the release.

The Help Hub at the Harrelson Center provides short-term or emergency assistance to individuals and families in need, according to the release. The Harrelson Center is located at Fourth and Market streets in downtown Wilmington.
