Two Wilmington Firms Named To State Best Employers List

By Christina Haley O'Neal, posted Jun 9, 2020
Wilmington Design Co. and N2 Publishing, two Wilmington-based firms, have been named to Business North Carolina's 2020 Best Employers list, according to a recently released ranking.

Wilmington Design Co. ranked No. 12 on the publication's Small-to-Medium Companies category, which considered firms with 15 to 249 employees. The firm is a full-service internet marketing, branding and web development agency.

"We are extremely honored and excited to be included in this list for the third year in a row. I think that it says a lot about our team, how we’ve grown over the years, and our dedication to make Wilmington Design Company a great place to work," Bill Hunter, president and creative director of Wilmington Design Co., said in the release.

N2 Publishing, a publisher of customized neighborhood magazines, also made the list.

The firm ranked No. 17 in the Large Employer category, which includes businesses of 250 employees or more.

“We are honored to be recognized as a great employer by Business North Carolina. We have a team of people that rise to the challenge - whether it’s a hurricane or a virus. People first, always. That’s our desire," said Duane Hixon, co-founder and CEO of the firm.

This is the fourth time N2 Publishing has made it to the list. The firm also ranked on the list in 2016, 2017 and 2019.

For the listing, Best Companies Group polled employees and employers on dozens of topics, from recruiting practices to recognition programs, according to the Business NC website.
