Karin Cox and Janell Johnson were named to new positions at Hartsook, an employee-owned fundraising consulting practice, according to a news release.

Cox, a co-founder, now holds the title of president. Johnson was promoted to executive vice president. Cox and Johnson live in the Wilmington area, and have clients all over the country, stated the release.

Cox previously served as senior executive vice president of the firm.

“Karin’s well-deserved and timely promotion recognizes her vital role in Hartsook’s creation, its present and its future. Because she is based out of North Carolina, Karin is particularly accessible to our East Coast clients, in addition to her clients located around the country,” said Hartsook Chairman and CEO Matthew Beem, in the release.

Cox has served in senior leadership roles in nonprofit and business sectors, and she is an author, frequent presenter and senior consultant, stated the release.

Johnson (right) has experience in board development, strategic planning and staff management, officials said. She is also a national speaker.
