Christopher Hess has joined Wilmington Health to lead a new department.

Hess is heading up Wilmington Health Interventional Pain and Regenerative Medicine, a new specialty located at 1202 Medical Center Drive in Wilmington, according to a news release.

Hess has expertise in the treatment of chronic pain, including interventional nerve blocks, injections, stem cell therapy and platelet-rich plasma, stated the release.

Hess is a board-certified physician in both pain medicine and regenerative medicine. He completed an anesthesia residency and internship and pain medicine fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, in Boston. He earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine.

Hess has a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington.
