UNCW has named two associate vice chancellors.

Dana Harris has been named associate vice chancellor for finance, and Jeanine Mingé was named associate vice chancellor for community engagement, according to announcements from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Harris, who is slated to begin her role on July 8, will oversee the accounting, student accounts, payroll, collections, financial reporting, purchasing and budget development functions, officials said in a news release.

She will report to Miles Lackey, vice chancellor for business affairs. Harris has more than 15 years of experience at UNCW. She was most recently the senior associate athletic director for internal operations. Prior to her joining UNCW, she served as an assistant state auditor with the N.C. Office of the State Auditor for 14 years, stated the release.

“Dana’s track record of success and knowledge of UNCW make her the right person at the right time for this position,” Lackey said in the release. “We look forward to having her join the team.”

Harris received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Elon University with a minor in accounting, officials said. She has certifications in public accounting, internal auditing and fraud examination.

Mingé (right) will begin her new role July 15, succeeding Kristen Brogdon, who has served as interim since August 2017, officials stated in a release.

"Brogdon accepted a new position as director of programming at Northrop at the University of Minnesota," officials said in the release.

She will come to UNCW after holding a similar position as director of community engagement at California State University, Northridge, officials said. Other positions she held at the California university included director of performance ensemble and director of graduate students.

“Jeanine Mingé's extensive experience in community engagement will allow the university to build upon the success of programs and initiatives that address the cultural, academic and service needs of the region and beyond,” UNCW Provost Marilyn Sheerer said in the release.

Mingé will report to Sheerer and be a member of the Office of Academic Affair’s senior staff, officials stated in the release. In addition, she will be responsible for the entities under the university’s Office of Community Engagement and the Office of the Arts.

Mingé earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree with a specialization in community-based art, nonprofit/university collaboration and social justice from the University of South Florida, officials said. She earned a master’s degree in communication studies from San Diego State University and received her bachelor’s degree in communication studies from James Madison University.
