Matthew Parr
Matthew Parr, owner of Surf City Dental, recently received a fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) in recognition of his having completed a series of requirements.

The requirements, according to a news release, included documentation of successful implants and records detailing completion of at least 100 hours of implant education in the past five years.

Parr said the ICOI fellowship further validates his expertise and proficiency in the field of dental implants.

“Receiving this fellowship is just one more milestone in my team’s drive to be at the forefront of dental innovation,” Parr said in the release. “Applying what I’ve learned, we’re able to provide a guided implant surgery that allows very controlled accuracy and precision results. At the end of the day, the reward for me is seeing how these groundbreaking procedures improve patients’ lives.”

The ICOI is made up of general dentists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, periodontists, prosthodontists, endodontists, orthodontists, laboratory technicians, auxiliaries, industry representatives, researchers, faculty members and pre- and post-doctoral graduate dental students. According to the association’s website, it credentialed fewer than 700 individuals in 2018.
