KWIPPED Hires Chief Growth Officer

By Christina Haley O'Neal, posted Feb 19, 2019
Travis Sherbine has been hired at Wilmington-based tech startup KWIPPED Inc. as chief growth officer, according to a news release.

Sherbine will officially begin his new role Feb. 25, officials said. He will join the company with more than 20 years of experience in product development, digital marketing and online market place operations within the B2B/Industrial sector.

He has spent the past 15 years working for New York, New York-based industrial online sourcing company Thomas, operator of ThomasNet.com, according to the release. His last position there was executive vice president of product.

His decision to leave his long-time New York employer to join KWIPPED was for the opportunity “to leverage technology to add tremendous value to the equipment market for both buyers and sellers,” Sherbine said in the release.

“My primary goal is to work with the executive team to develop and execute the longer-term strategy, solidify the product vision, and optimize the organization to drive scale and growth,” Sherbine said in the release. “KWIPPED has a winning equation that's driving solid growth. The next few years we’ll be focused on building an organizational structure and deploying the appropriate resources to rapidly scale that winning equation.”

KWIPPED is a business-to-business equipment rental and leasing marketplace.

“In addition to the fact that his entire career has been in the B2B/manufacturing/industrial market, I know from past personal and professional experience [that] we’re bringing on a highly effective executive leader who will have a major and immediate positive impact on our growth,” KWIPPED CEO Robert Preville said in the release.

Preville and Rob Kaiser are part owners of KWIPPED. Preville is part owner of the Greater Wilmington Business Journal along with Kaiser, who is also the Business Journal's publisher.
