WCFHBA Announces 2019 President

Shawn Horton of Trusst Builder Group has been named the Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association's 2019 president, according to a news release.

Horton officially took over as the association’s president Jan. 1, according to the release. He succeeds previous president David Spetrino of PBC Design + Build. Spetrino will serve as the immediate past president and will remain on the association’s executive committee.

Other members of the WCFHBA 2019 Executive Committee are first vice president Craig Smith of 70 West Builders; second vice president Steve Swain of The Coastal Cypress Building Co.; secretary Heath Clark of Bill Clark Homes; treasurer Jordy Rawl of Coastal Home Co. and past president’s council Deans Hackney of Horizon Homes.

Horton has more than 20 years of real estate development and building experience with developments and homes built in the Wilmington area.

The installation of Horton's role with WCFHBA and its 2019 officers and board directors took place at the board's meeting in December, officials said.

Craig Johnson, N.C. Home Builders Association Region I vice president, swore in the 2019 board of directors at that meeting, effective Jan. 1, and Kristin Freeman of Thirty 4 North Properties, as the 2019 chair of the Wilmington-Cape Fear New Home Sales & Marketing Council, according to the release.

The 2019 board of directors are Cress Bell of Bell Custom Homes; Howard Penton of Penton Development; PJ Kelly of Logan Homes; Holly Overton of Charter Building Group; Brad Tilyou of Mungo Homes; Brian Eckel of Cape Fear Commercial; Tim Milam of Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage; Scott Shina of Piedmont Natural Gas; Emily Longley of Longley Supply; Stuart Franck of Nationwide Owens Insurance Agency; Drew Pittman of Keith Beatty Team - Intracoastal Realty; Steve Caudill of Builders FirstSource; Mike Keenan of BB&T; Jim Moore of James E. Moore Insurance; Jeff Stokley of Stokley Development Corp.; Craig Johnson of Herrington Classic Homes; Rodney Harris of Hanover Building; Hiram Williams of Action Construction; John Lancaster of Venture Homes; Brad Whitlow of Yadkin Bank; David Smith of David Smith Builder and JC Hearne of J.C. Hearne II Law.
