Dosher Volunteers Re-elect Officers

By Christina Haley O'Neal, posted Nov 20, 2018
Dosher Volunteers has re-elected several officers for its next fiscal year, according to a news release.

The group has re-elected Jeri Robinson as president; Ann Hollingsworth as vice president; Lois Galligan as treasurer; Verda Darrell as chaplain; and Donna Jenny as secretary, according to the release. Each will serve one-year terms as officers.

Robinson has been a volunteer for three-and-a-half years and has served as president for a little over a year, she said.

“I think it’s a great honor because this is a dynamic group of people,” she said of being re-elected president.

Darrell has been in her position for several years, Robinson said. Galligan has served for three-and-a-half years.

Hollingsworth is a longtime volunteer and will begin her second year as vice president, Robinson said. And Jenny will also serve her second year.

In October, Dosher Volunteers put in more than 2,200 hours for the month, Robinson said, adding that the group averages about 2,000 volunteer hours a month.

Its services include volunteer work in the hospital gift shop, work driving the courtesy shuttle to and from the hospital, and work in emergency and patient care units, Robinson said. There is also a large staff that works at the Dosher Memorial Hospital Flea Market.

Elections are normally held every year in September, however, Hurricane Florence pushed back elections to October, Robinson said.
