A member of the LS3P team has been awarded the 2018 Architects Foundation Jason Pettigrew Memorial ARE Scholarship, according to a news release.

Isela Martinez, associate AIA, LEED AP, has received the scholarship, which is awarded to emerging professionals who have made significant contributions to the field of architecture at early stages in their careers, officials said in the release. The scholarship is administered by the Architects Foundation and developed by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) National Associates Committee.

The scholarship funds will help defray the cost of registration and study materials for the Architect Registration Examination, a rigorous six-part exam required for architectural licensure, officials said in the release.

Martinez has a Bachelor of Architecture from the NewSchool of Architecture and Design in San Diego.

She joined LS3P’s Wilmington office in 2015.

Her portfolio of work includes designs for higher education, K-12, health care and residential clients. Martinez’s notable recent work includes the NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital in Wilmington.
