Attorney Appointed To Wilmington Housing Authority Board

Nancy Guyton, an attorney with Kincaid & Associates PLLC, has been appointed a commissioner on the Wilmington Housing Authority Board.

Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo’s office held a brief ceremony to swear Guyton in on July 20, according to a news release.

Guyton, a local real estate attorney, has been advising businesses, individuals in businesses and real estate law for more than 30 years. She is an N.C. State Bar board-certified specialist in real property transactions – commercial and residential – and is “the only woman with the commercial specialist designation in eastern North Carolina,” officials stated in the release.

She previously served as general council for Zimmer Development Company, officials said. 

Guyton graduated from Smith College with a bachelor’s degree in American studies and earned her Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill, stated the release. She is licensed to practice law in North Carolina.

Guyton is a member of the N.C. Bar Association and has served as a member of its real property council.

In addition, Guyton is an active member of the N.C. Association of Women Attorneys, a founding member and former officer of the Coastal Women Attorneys Chapter, officials said.

She is a past board member of Cape Fear CREW; past board chair and current board member of United Way of the Cape Fear Area; current board member of She Rocks Inc. and a past board president of the YMCA of the Lower Cape Fear, according to the release.
