UNCW's College of Health and Human Services has announced Steve Elliott as the new Director of the School of Health and Applied Human Sciences, according to a news release.
Elliott began his new role on July 1, according to the release. He is an associate professor with tenure and has served in the role of associate and interim director of School of Health and Applied Human Science (SHAHS) during the 2017-18 academic year.
He earned his bachelor of arts in K-12 physical education and health from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 1996, as well as a master of education in curriculum and instruction in 2000 and a doctorate of philosophy in education with a concentration in kinesiology in 2003 from the University of Virginia.
“With confidence, I can say that Steve is well-positioned to assume this important role within the CHHS,” said Charles Hardy, dean of CHHS, in the release. “Indeed, he has a strong professional background that brings to life the College values of collaboration, innovation, passion, empowerment, sustainability, trust and vitality.”
