Janette Fernandes, marketing coordinator for St. James Plantation won two national awards for marketing materials she and her team created for the residential community, according to a news release.
The winning publications were printed by Brenda Klee, with whom Fernandes has worked in the past and who is currently account manager of The Printing Port in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, officials said.
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) announced the awards in a number of housing-related categories, officials said. St. James Plantation’s Coasting Magazine won silver in the NAHB’s 55+ Marketing Campaign Awards, Direct Mail Piece or Campaign category, while St. James Plantation’s Lifestyle brochure scored a gold for the Best 55+ Brochure.
Fernandes said that the award shows "we have a creative team who strives not to be the same as everyone else, but to constantly bring items to life and to give our prospects a wow factor."
Klee credited Fernandes' design skills and attitude for helping the team to win the awards, she said, adding that Fernandes “pours her heart into each project and that shows through to the finished piece. She always wants to ‘one up’ her own designs.”
Klee said printing Coasting Magazine is a big deal for the relatively small printing company. The Lifestyles brochure was similarly deemed to be engaging and informative, providing prospective homeowners a glimpse into a lifestyle they could have, officials said.
Fernandes said her intent in creating Coasting Magazine was “to make it like a relocation magazine to answer as many questions as possible while giving prospects an overview of St. James Plantation.” And the Lifestyle Brochure, she said, was created to "embrace all that St. James and Southport has to offer from a lifestyle perspective.”
