Wilmington Design Co. has welcomed a new member to its team and is the winner of five national design awards.

Casey Davis has joined the local design firm as UX/UI designer, according to Wilmington Design Co. officials. She has a strong background and decorated experience in web design and caught the eye of the firm, officials said.

Davis grew up on the Virginia coast. She took a job as an associate interactive designer in Blacksburg, Virginia. After working in the mountains of Virginia for three years, she decided to get back to coastal living.

In her new role at Wilmington Design Co., she uses her user research and user interface design skills “to showcase her best work,” officials with the company said.

Davis went to Virginia Tech and holds a degree in visual communication design.

In addition to the new hire, Wilmington Design Co. was recently named a five-time winner in Graphic Design USA's 2017 American Graphic Design competition for its print and online creative work for local and regional clients, according to a release.

Those clients include Eastern Carolina Dental, Anlyan & Hively, Nest Fine Gifts and Twisted Lemon Boxes.

This is the fifth consecutive year Wilmington Design has been recognized by Graphic Design USA.

"It's always humbling to be recognized by your design peers, especially at the national level. I was really excited to see that two of our e-commerce projects were recognized this year", said Bill Hunter president and creative director at WDC. "We are thrilled to be included again this year among so many cutting-edge creative and digital marketing firms.

Wilmington Design received Certificates of Excellence for five categories:  Eastern Carolina Dental-Logo Design; Anlyan & Hively-Website Design; Nest Fine Gifts-E-commerce Website Design; Twisted Lemon Boxes-E-commerce Website Design and Fortune 500 Company (Private) Award for environmental graphics.
