CFCC Announces New Director Of Information Technology

Kumar Lakhavani
Cape Fear Community College has hired Kumar Lakhavani as its new director of information technology.

Lakhavani brings over 30 years of computer engineering experience and over five years of experience leading IT services in the higher education industry to CFCC, according to a news release.

He is a certified cognizant technical officer and holds a chief information officer certification from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Lakhavani has also served as a diplomat and foreign service officer with the State Department. 
 
Lakhavani has experience with the N.C. Community College system, having worked at Alamance Community College and, most recently, Piedmont Community College, officials said in the release.

“I am looking forward to making a difference at CFCC by using my experience and skills to make the lives of our customers — the students, faculty, staff, and community — better by providing world-class customer service,” Lakhavani said in the release.
