UNCW Media Team Earns Telly Awards

By Christina Haley O'Neal, posted Aug 1, 2017
The media production team in the University of North Carolina Wilmington's Office of University Relations has collected two more Telly Awards, the university announced in June.

“A Holiday Message from Chancellor Jose V. Sartarelli” won a People’s Telly Award, which “gives power to the people,” as winners are chosen by online viewers from across the world, according to a press release from UNCW.

Since taking the helm of UNCW in 2015, Sartarelli has worn many hats, which was the theme for this campus community message. The piece was viewed more than 5,500 times.

Jesse Bradley, director of media production, served as producer; Krista McKinney served as editor and cinematographer; and Bradley Pearce contributed with cinematography.

Bradley and McKinney earned an additional Telly in the “Recruitment” category for their work in producing a video showcasing the UNCW Department of Music.

The Office of Univeristy Relations team highlights the academic and institutional achievements of the university via video production, still photography and multimedia campaigns.

In April, the team was honored with a Bronze Telly in the category of "Public Interest/Awareness," for a video that showcased the a unique university program that provides physical activity programs for people with physical and cognitive disabilities.

For 38 years, the Telly Awards have recognized the best in cable TV programming, as well as online, video and film productions.
