Wilmington Business Receives National Recognition

By Staff Reports, posted Dec 6, 2016
Matt Sarkela, owner of Mr. Appliance of Wilmington, recently earned Top Gun award and Business Development recognition during the Dwyer Group International Convention held recently in San Antonio, Texas.

The Top Gun and Business Development award goes to franchise owners who achieve top sales and reach operation benchmarks. The Top Gun recipients represent the top 10 percent of Mr. Appliance franchise owners across North America.

Mr. Appliance has more than 150 locations throughout the United States and Canada, and is an appliance repair franchise system. It was founded in 1996.

“The idea of ‘Top Gun’ was established by the Navy in the 1960s as a way to give training and credit to elite fighter pilots,” said Doug Rogers, president of Mr. Appliance, in a news release. “Taking a page from the Naval Top Gun Program, each year we recognize our franchise leaders for their accomplishments and dedication to the trade. It takes dedication, hard work, expertise and commitment to reach the Top Gun goal and we are honored to have these winners on our team.”

“It is an honor to receive this award,” said Sarkela in a news release. “Our company works hard to provide great and outstanding customer service.”
