By Staff Reports, posted Aug 23, 2016
Wilmington-based Cape Fear Solar Systems recently landed on an industry publication’s best of list.

The local company came in was among the Top 5 residential rooftop contractors in North Carolina on Solar Power World’s 2016 Top 500 Solar Contractors list, according to a news release.

The firm ranked highest on the list for southeastern North Carolina companies, the release stated.

“Ranks are determined by the number of megawatts (DC) a company was involved with installing in 2015 in North America only. If two companies reported the same 2015 numbers, they were sorted by total megawatts installed,” according to Solar Power World.

Cape Fear Solar Systems employs 19 workers, who installed 653 kW of solar in 2015, the company reported. “Since its founding in 2007, the company has installed 2,130 kW of solar. The company installs on average two solar systems each week,” the release stated.
