(Charles Hardy)
The N.C. Institute of Medicine recently selected Charles Hardy, dean of the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s College of Health and Human Services, for membership.

Hardy joins 100 other leaders in health care, academic, business and policy across the state in the group, a news release stated.

“I am honored by this opportunity to contribute to the advancement of health policy and health care in the state,” Hardy said in the release. “UNCW’s participation in the NCIOM will further CHHS’ mission not only to educate future care providers, but to work with communities and the state on ways to improve the health of North Carolina residents.”

The N.C. Institute of Medicine is an independent, quasi-state agency chartered by the legislature in 1983 to provide nonpartisan information on health issues, the release stated. His term runs through 2020, with a chance for reappointment.a
