Carter Named President Of Atlantic Packaging

By Emily Mohorn, posted Jun 14, 2016
Previous president and CEO of Atlantic Packaging, Rusty Carter, recently passed on the president position to his son, Wes.

Rusty Carter made the announcement at Atlantic’s 70th anniversary event and fourth annual Founder’s Day. After 46 years of presidency, Rusty Carter explained in a news release that he is not retiring; he is formally passing on the presidency title to his son.

“I have been serving both the roles for too long,” Rusty Carter said to company employees, according to a news release. “My focus the last several years has been on those typical CEO duties of growth, strategy, vision and further investment. Wes has actually carried many of the normal president’s functions of directing many of the day-to-day duties of the company working with the leadership in sales development, supply chain and general coordination of what’s happening inside Atlantic."

Wes Carter said he does not expect his role in the company to change much, the release stated.

“I’ve been active in Atlantic for close to 15 years," he said in the release. "I’ve had a lot of fantastic mentors and peers who have given me a lot of experience and a lot of comfort with what we’re doing with this company and where we’re headed, so I’m very excited to formally take on this role."
