NHRMC Physician Specialists-OB/GYN Specialists recently opened a second location at 505 E. Satchwell St., Burgaw, on the campus of Pender Memorial Hospital.

Ashwin Patel will see patients at the new location, which is in the same building as NHRMC Physician Specialists-General Surgery Specialists, led by William Powers, according to a news release.

“The variety and complexity of obstetrics and gynecology drew me to that specialty in medical school,” Patel said in the release. “Women’s health care is so important and vital to the health of our community, and I really enjoy being a part of that.”

A South Carolina native, Patel received a doctorate in medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, and a bachelor’s of science degree from College of Charleston. He then completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at NHRMC, the release stated.
