Dosher Medical-Oak Island recently hired Heather Bowers as a second primary care provider to the clinic.
 
Bowers, a physician assistant, joined Dosher from Wilmington Health-Oak Island, bringing 11 years of experience in family medicine with her, according to a news release.
 
She received her medical training at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston and began seeing patients at Dosher Medical-Oak Island on March 7, the release stated.
 
Dosher Medical-Oak Island is one of 11 clinics operated by Dosher Memorial Hospital from Holden Beach to Bald Head Island. A 12th clinic is set to open in August along Middleton Road, outside the west entrance to St. James Plantation, the release stated.
