NHCS, UNCW Chosen For Kennedy Center Partnership Program

New Hanover County Schools, working with University of North Carolina Wilmington's Office of the Arts, was recently named Partners in Education with The Kennedy Center.
 
The school system and UNCW partnership is one of 10 teams to join The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. It is the second time the NHCS Arts Department has been selected to partner with The Kennedy Center, according to a news release.
 
The Kennedy Center will host the 14th Partners in Education Institute on April 27-30. The program is designed for arts organizations and school districts interested in partnering to initiate and expand professional development programs for teachers, according to the release.
 
The institute focuses on the development of educational programs for teachers and participants and will examine the variety of educational offerings for teachers that have been developed at The Kennedy Center since 1976, according to the release.
