(Edwin West III)
Edwin West III, an attorney with the business law firm of Brooks Pierce in Wilmington, was named to the board of advisers of Hampden-Sydney College’s Wilson Center for Leadership in the Public Interest. He is an alumnus of the college.

The center, according to a news release, “provides students with opportunities to explore, develop and grow their leadership skills.” It also oversees leadership, public service and education for Hampden-Sydney’s faculty, staff and alumni, as well as for a variety of community and national organizations.

As a board member, West will be responsible for helping guide and oversee the Wilson Center’s programs and initiatives, the release stated.

“The Wilson Center equips promising students with the skills, experiences and connections they need to fulfill their potential as future leaders,” West said in the release. “These students go on to do great things in their fields, and I am honored to have this opportunity.”
