The Wilmington office of architecture firm LS3P has been recognized by AIA Wilmington with a 2015 Honor Award and a People’s Choice award for the Wendell Falls Farmhouse in Wendell, North Carolina.

Despite the fact that the farmhouse is located in Wake County, its design and construction was done by several local firms, according to a news release.

Designed by LS3P’s Wilmington office for owner and developer Newland Communities, the farmhouse was built by Wilmington-based Monteith Construction. Woods Engineering and CBHF Engineers, also of Wilmington, also contributed greatly to the design. LS3P’s Laura Miller served as project manager and Dean Webb, also of the firm, was the project’s lead designer.

The farmhouse serves as an amenities center for a residential development and includes community gathering spaces, administrative offices, a café and fitness center, the release stated.

Wendell Falls Farmhouse opened in late spring of 2015.
