Wilmington Chamber Board Elects Swinny

By Jenny Callison, posted Oct 6, 2015
Jason Swinny, executive plant leader of GE Aviation’s Global Supply Chain, has been elected to the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Swinny fills the unexpired term of Kim Avery of Verizon Wireless, whose job has taken her out of state, according to a news release.

Swinny came to GE in 1999 through its Operations Management Leadership Program and has held multiple roles during his 16-year career, including a prior stint in Wilmington from 2006-09. He was named plant leader of GE Aviation’s West Jefferson, North Carolina, facility in 2009, then from 2011 to 2014 served as site leader for two GE Aviation Electronics facilities, the release stated. He returned to the Wilmington facility in 2014.

Swinny earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Murray State University, and an MBA from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
