Burns Chosen For Library Of Congress Program

The Library of Congress named Wilmington teacher Patricia Burns as a participant in its Teaching with Primary Sources Summer Teacher Institute last month, according to a news release.
 
Burns teaches at St. Mark Catholic School in Wilmington where she is the library media specialist.
 
Burns was selected from a pool of more than 300 applicants to participate in the primary sources institute. Located in Washington, D.C., The Library of Congress hosts five teacher institutes during the summer.
 
During the five-day program, participants worked with library education specialists and subject-matter experts to learn effective practices for using primary sources in the classroom, the release stated.
