Landfall Gives To Kids Making It

By Zachery Eanes, posted Jul 28, 2015
The Landfall Foundation gave a $5,000 grant to the Kids Making It (KMI) program last month, according to a news release.

KMI is a Wilmington-based nonprofit that works with at-risk youth, teaching vocational skills and encouraging its participants to complete school. Participants can start at the after-school program at the age of eight and remain in the program through early adulthood.

KMI plans to use the grant funds to expand classes and the number of children it can serve, as well as help KMI graduates who are not going to college find work, the release stated.

The Wilmington-based Landfall Foundation provides grants and funds to nonprofits, projects and programs that work in the areas of art, education and health and welfare in the Wilmington area, the release stated. It was founded in 1995 and has donated more than $3 million since it was created.
