Historic Wilmington Foundation Receives Grant For Tech Equipment

By Jenny Callison, posted Jun 2, 2015
The Historic Wilmington Foundation recently received its first grant from the Residents of Old Wilmington (ROW) and will use the money for technology upgrades to improve the organization’s effectiveness, a news release from the foundation stated.

The grant amount was slightly more than $1,400, according to George Edwards, executive director of the foundation.

“Specifically, we asked for a new desktop computer (no monitor), a 35mm camera, and a small portable screen for PowerPoint presentations for our outreach and speaker’s bureau,” Edwards said in an email. “We have acquired the desktop computer, the camera and the used laptop. We have priced the screens and we will get one this month.”

Edwards added that the foundation has not had a 35mm camera in “anyone’s memory” and the organization needs a good camera for pictures.

“This was our first ROW application in my tenure and we were grateful for their generous support,” he said.
