The Carousel Center Inc. has added seven people to its board of directors, the organization announced recently.

The new board members are Lenard Edralin, pediatrician and owner of Knox Clinic Pediatrics; Kara Gansmann, attorney with Cranfill, Sumner & Hartzog LLP; Mark Kennedy, with Mark Kennedy CPA; Chandler King, project manager with Reaction Modifications at GE Energy; Kandra Romeo, team support specialist at Alliance Credit Union, Edelmira Segovia, interim association provost for diversity and inclusion at UNCW; and David Walker, who is retired from his faculty position at High Point University.

“Our current 17-member, all-volunteer board of directors is strong on talent and overflowing with positive energy,” Amy Feath, Carousel Center’s executive director, said in a news release. “We have been presented with a very ambitious operations and outreach plan for the upcoming year, and I am confident that they will be invaluable as we continue our path toward helping every child of abuse get healthy and heal.”

The Carousel Center is a nonprofit organization that provides a “child-friendly environment for abused and neglected children” and supports “child abuse prevention efforts in southeastern North Carolina,” according to the release. Care services include medical examinations, forensic interviews, child therapy services and family mental health and social services.
