The seventh annual Karl Davis Leadership Wilmington Alumnus of the Year Award was presented to 2007 Leadership Wilmington graduate Wilma Daniels during the recent Leadership Wilmington Alumni Association reception, according to a news release from the chamber.

The award was named in memory of LW graduate and WECT general manager Karl Davis, who died in 2008, the release stated.

Daniels, who is president of Daniels Management, was honored for her extensive volunteer work and for giving back to the community, according to the release, which added that she is a trustee of the University of North Carolina Wilmington and is the founder of the Katherine S.
