Anand Joshi, Jordan Spellman Join NHRMC Physician Group

NHRMC Physician Group – New Hanover Psychiatry has announced that Anand Joshi and Jordan Spellman have joined the practice, according to a news release.

New Hanover Psychiatry provides inpatient counseling and treatment services to patients in crisis at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Behavioral Health Hospital, officials said.

Joshi has most recently been caring for patients at inpatient psychiatric hospitals in Minnesota and Iowa, as well as providing outpatient neurology, urgent mental health and telehealth services for both pediatric and adult patients, including veterans, officials said in the release. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Society and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Joshi earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a pre-med minor from East Carolina University in Greenville and his Doctor of Medicine from St. Matthew’s School of Medicine.  He completed his residency in psychiatry and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry, simultaneously, at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine.

Spellman has been providing inpatient psychiatry services in Raleigh, Garner and Washington, officials said. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Medical Association.

Spellman (right) earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Studies from Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio, and his Doctor of Medicine from Avalon University School of Medicine in Willemstad, Curacao, according to the release. He completed his residency and internship programs in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Medicine at the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine in Greenville.
