Helen Tarokic Law Increases Staffing

Helen Tarokic Law PLLC, which specializes in immigration and nationalization law, has expanded its staff, according a press release.  
 
Rishika Joshi, administrative assistant and interpreter, graduated from University of North Carolina Wilmington with a bachelor’s degree in international business. Fluent in both French and Tamil, Joshi serves the firm as a Guarjati interpreter and translates for attorney Helen Tarokic.
 
Pam Grier has joined the firm as an office manager and oversees its daily functions in areas such as human resources, payroll and client contract responsibilities. Grier graduated from High Point University and holds a master’s degree from Strayer University. 
 
Lizbeth Buenrostro takes care of record-keeping and client relations as the billing and administrative assistant. As a graduate from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in romance languages and a concentration in Hispanic linguistics, Buenrostro also interprets in English and Spanish for the firm.

Wilmington-native Margaret Bordeaux has provided administrative support throughout the region for more than 10 years and works as an administrative assistant for the firm. She has served as a volunteer for many community-based organizations and recently earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Shaw University with a minor in psychology.
 
Waleska Esquilin works as a victim witness assistant for the firm and prepares T Visa statements for immigrant victims of crime and human trafficking. Esquilin translates from Spanish to English and assists in calendaring, reception and taking payments. She attended the University of Puerto Rico, Humacao campus, and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work.
 
Sarah Scott, administrative assistant, works on closing out files, updating records and receipts and drafting forms and paperwork for existing clients. She received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from UNCW.
 
Legal Assistant Keegan T. Huynh prepares Freedom of Information Act requests, fingerprints clients for background checks and drafts client and interagency correspondence, said the release. Huynh graduated from UNCW with a double concentration in Spanish and political science. 
 
Helen Tarokic Law also added Katherine Haddock to the team as a law clerk. With the firm, she prepares U visas, assisting victims of crime and domestic violence. Haddock graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law and held internships with the Battered Immigrant Project of Legal Aid of North Carolina and the Forsyth County District Attorney’s office.
 
“I’m drawn toward the firm and the work they’re doing,” Haddock said in the release. “It’s rewarding and challenging work.”
