Historic Wilmington Foundation Celebrates 50 Years

Historic Wilmington Foundation held its annual meeting recently, which marked the beginning of the foundation’s 50th year of service and historic preservation leadership.
 
Over 100 members and friends attended the Historic Wilmington Foundation’s annual meeting on January 28 at the Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center, according to a news release. Committee members and trustees provided updates on achievements during 2015 and described initiatives planned for 2016.
 
Historic Wilmington recognized the following new board members and leaders who were elected or reappointed to positions:
 
New board members are:
  • Amanda Mason- partner at Mason and Mason Attorneys at Law
  • Margaret Paul- loan officer with the Emerging Markets Group at Live Oak Bank
  • M. Gregg Thomas- owner and president of Thomas Funeral Home Inc.
  • Elizabeth Wright- attorney at Wright, Worley, Pope, Ekster, & Moss PLLC Family Firm
  • Jim Snow- a former HWF board member and board secretary
  • Charles “Chuck” Riesz- A former HWF board member who serves on the foundation's Plaque Committee.
 
New officers and Executive Committee members are:
  • Kent Stephens - president: H. Kenneth Stephens II Attorney at Law
  • Amanda Smith- secretary: community volunteer
  • Walker Abney- vice president: investment advisor and manager of Tilia Fiduciary Partners
  • Zach Adams- treasurer - regional marketing manager and vice president of First Bank
  • Mark S. KennedyExecutive Committee – Mark S. Kennedy CPA PLLC
  • Colleen Rozier – Executive Committee – director of property management, Cape Fear Commercial Realty.
