PPD Recognized For Wellness Programs

By Hunter Joyner, posted Feb 2, 2016
Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD), a global contract research organization, was recently recognized as one of the best companies for promoting employee health and wellness in the Triangle area.

Wilmington-based PPD ranked fourth on the list of the 25 Healthiest Employers of the Triangle. The honor is sponsored by the Triangle Business Journal and is awarded to companies with a commitment to prioritizing wellness and helping employees focus on their health, according to a news release.

“This award recognizes that support for PPD’s wellness programs is an investment in the health of our employees and our company,” Ed Murray, PPD’s executive vice president of human resources, said in a news release. “Our philosophy is simple: Healthier, happier employees are more productive, engaged employees.”

PPD officials said that ongoing participation in the wellness programs provide the greatest potential for employees and their dependents to live healthy and productive lives and support the company’s objective of maintaining ongoing competitive and affordable health care benefit offerings.
