By Jenny Callison, posted Dec 22, 2015
Skip Tyson of Wilmington Pediatric Dentistry was inducted into the American College of Dentists at this year's American Dental Association Meeting in Washington, D.C, according to a news release.

The American College of Dentists recognizes dentists for their leadership and contributions to the profession of dentistry and to their community.

Tyson is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's School of Dentistry and Medical University of South Carolina’s pediatric dental residency program, the release stated. He opened his practice, Wilmington Pediatric Dentistry, in 1997.

His leadership roles include having served on the board and as president of both the Wilmington Tri-County Dental Society and the N.C. Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Tyson has also chaired the Department of Dentistry and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was nominated for this recent honor by Wilson Jewell, a fellow Wilmington dentist and a member of the American College.
